Mrs. Geraldine (Berry) Cunningham, “Gerry”, 76, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010, in Lahey Hospital after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis Cunningham. Gerry was born in Lynn, daughter of the late Ira Berry and Mildred (Burnett) (Berry) Comeau. She was a graduate of Swampscott High, Class of 1952. Gerry was a resident of Danvers for most of her life before moving to Peabody 7 years ago. She worked at Ideal Baby Shoe in Danvers, as an Office Manager, until her retirement. She previously worked at Sylvania and General Electric. Gerry’s true devotion was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild. She also enjoyed traveling, knitting, and reading. She was an active class reunion committee member for Swampscott High School Class of 1952 for many years. She is survived by her four children, Linda Carroll and her husband John of Danvers, Robert Cunningham and his wife Tracy of Danvers, Karen Montecalvo and her husband Keith of NH, and Cathleen Forster of West Bridgewater and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Nana was the cherished grandmother of Patrick, Kevin and Maureen Carroll, Curtis Cunningham, Tom and Samantha Skalski, Amy and Kelly Forster and Donna Urzua. She was the great-grandmother of Avery. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Berry. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Mon., Mar. 1, 2010 in St. Richard Church, Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Vst. Hrs are Sun. from 3PM-6PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to the American Parkinson Disease Assoc., Inc.135 Parkinson Ave., Staten Island, NY 10305.
