Geraldine “Gerrie” Margaret (Garvey) Cwik, 90, passed away peacefully in her home on June 13, 2011. She was the wife of the late Theodore Cwik. Born in Gloucester on April 17, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Drohan) Garvey. She graduated from Bernadette Secretarial School. Geraldine had been a resident of Danvers for sixty years. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Annunciation Church and a member of the Holy Roller’s Club. She was retired from the former Almy’s in Danvers Plaza. Upon retirement she spent her winters in Lake Worth, Florida. She was an avid Boston sports fan, and enjoyed participating at the Danvers Senior Center and in the Sunnyside Bowling Leagues. Geraldine will be remembered as a fun, loving and generous person She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Diane and George Carter of Hamilton, a special niece Patsy Perkins, a loving caregiver Karen Sergenton, brother-in-law Joseph Cwik, sister-in-law Jean Garvey and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter Maureen and siblings, William Garvey, Regis Perkins, and Helen Hudder. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Thursday, June 16, 2011 in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers. Burial is private. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Geraldine’s name to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA, 01923. Arrangements are made by C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
