Geraldine S. Lund

Geraldine S. (Griffin) Lund, 92, died peacefully at home in Danvers on Friday, December 22, 2023. She was the wife of the late Arthur R. Lund, with whom she shared forty-seven years of marriage. Born in Wareham on May 20, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Mary Louise (Conroy) Griffin. She was raised and educated in Wareham and was a graduate of Wareham High School and the former St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in New Bedford. Geraldine served honorably as a nurse in the U.S. Air Force from 1957-1964. A Danvers resident since 1972, she worked as a nurse at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Salem Hospital, and other North Shore hospitals. Geraldine was a parishioner of Saint Richard’s Church in Danvers and was active at the Danvers Senior Center. She was an avid gardener and traveled the world with her late husband. She leaves a son, John Lund of Danvers and his girlfriend Lidia, her brother Lawrence Griffin of Waterville, ME, her dear friends Gary and Christine Daniels, and several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 29, 2023 at 10AM in Saint Richard’s Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. At Geraldine’s request, there are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
