Germaine A. (Gagnon) Zelano, 93, died Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Sutton Hill Center in North Andover. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph Zelano Sr. Born in Salem on December 14, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Luc Arthur and Maria (Thibault) Gagnon. She was raised and educated in Salem and had been a Danvers resident for more than 65 years. For several years, she was employed at Hotwatt in Danvers Square. She leaves two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph “Rocky” and Patricia Zelano of Danvers and John and Margie Zelano of South Carolina, her grandchildren, Marcia Good and her husband Patrick, Peter Zelano, Paul Zelano and his wife Angela, and Diane Glasscock, her sister, Gloria Lawrence of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Gama, George, Gregory, and Gwerrard Gagnon and sisters Gertrude Staples, Geraldine Pierce, and Antoinette D’Entremonte. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 9AM in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
