Giovanni (John) N. Capece, 76, of Danvers, MA passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024.
John was born on August 24, 1948, in Casalvecchio di Puglia, Italy, to parents Alessio and Amalia (Costantino) Capece. He immigrated to the United States when he was 25 years old in search of better opportunities and a brighter future. He quickly began working in the construction / home remodeling business; which he successfully pursued over his lifetime.
John enjoyed many hobbies that were engrained in him from the old country, such as: wood working, operating and repairing machinery, gardening, raising birds and rabbits, making homemade wine, sausages, and pasta. Above all, he cherished his grandchildren: Giovanni, Antonia (Nia), Alessia, Lucia, Nicola (Koko), Antonio, and Julian. The amount of joy and love that his grandchildren brought into his life was beyond measure.
In September of 2021, John suffered a serious and debilitating stroke that changed every aspect of his life. He was unexpectedly confined to a wheelchair, and required assistance for almost every daily task. Despite being in such circumstances, he did not give up hope; he held on strong up to his final days with a smile on his face and a positive attitude.
John is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Francesca M. Capece, sons Alessio (AJ), Joseph, and John Michael. Sister- Rosanna Capece and 7 grandchildren, as well as many other loving friends and family members.
His funeral services and burial are private.
Such a long time having the privilege of knowing you and your family. May you rest in eternal peace. You will be forever missed
Dear Fran and family, Sorry to hear of your loss. Sending you all prayers and our sympathy at this sad time. Gail & Alan Weeks
Dear Capece Family,
I was saddened to just learn of John’s passing.
My children and I met John 10 years ago almost to the day when we adopted one of his GSP puppies, “Billy”, who we renamed Enzo.
Enzo was the most amazing dog and family member. We would occasionally bring him back to visit with John and his parents, Jack and Diane.
Unfortunately we lost Enzo very unexpectedly last August. John was always so kind and welcoming to me and my youngest son, also named John.
He would proudly show us around his farm, his exotic birds, rabbits, and his small grove of fig trees!
Wishing eternal peace to John and our sincerest condolences to his family.
