H. Wayne Skinner, 87, husband of Jeannette (Southwick) Skinner for 63 years, passed away peacefully at Masconomet Health Care Center in Topsfield on Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Born on April 13, 1924, he was raised and educated in Danvers. He was the son of the late Hollis and Myrtle (Hilton) Skinner. Wayne worked for the Town of Swampscott as a surveyor and later for the Town of Danvers as an Assessor from which he retired in 1982. He was known for his beautiful stained glass artwork, although he was a man of many talents. Besides his wife, Jeannette, he is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Norma Citroni, Kathleen Southwick, Donald, Clifton (Pete) and Gardner Skinner. A special thanks to the staff from the Baker Unit at Masconomet for their kindness, compassion and professional care and Beth Roberts, his social worker. There are no visiting hours. A Graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Wayne’s name to the American Heart Assoc, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA, 01701. Funeral arrangements made by C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.

  2. I had the greatest respect of Wayne. I met him in 1958 while working for the Town of Swampscott as a Northeastern University Co-Op student. Wayne showed me the ropes from day one. We were coworkers for four and one/half years. Also, who can forget his dog Champ.

  3. I had the pleasure of living next door to Wayne and Jeanette. I absolutely love them both. I am so sorry for your loss Jeanette, you are always in my thoughts. May you rest in peace Mr. Skinner I love you.
