Halina Rutkowski

WAKEFIELD- Halina (Seroczynski) Rutkowski, 94, passed away on December 18, 2022, following a brief illness. She was the wife of Zdzislaw “Teddy” Rutkowski with whom he shared 72 years of marriage.
Born in Poland on May 18, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Francisek and Anna (Kozlowski) Seroczynski. Halina had been an assembler at General Electric in West Lynn and later at Amitek in Wilmington. Halina contributed to a GE project for war efforts by knitting bandages for soldiers. She was a long-time communicant of Saint Michael Parish in Lynn. After retiring, she and her husband enjoyed traveling to visit friends in California and spent time visiting family in Europe. She was a wiz at word searches and loved to knit and crochet. Halina enjoyed camping during the summers and especially loved spending time with her family and friends in the neighborhood, especially her dear friends Mike and Agnes Trabucco. She loved dogs, most recently her poodle Coco and his neighbor Rocky. She loved to cook and taught her grandson, Jonathan many Polish recipes.
In addition to her husband, Teddy, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christine and William Clemens of Danvers and her son and daughter-in-law, Henry and Patricia Rutkowski of Salem, five grandchildren, Alyson and William Clemens, Kathryn Rutkowski, Jennifer Arcuri and her husband, Scott and Jonathan Rutkowski, two great grandchildren, Scarlett and Lucas, a dear niece, Alice Slapak and a great nephew and niece, Christopher and Danielle and their families.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, in Saint John the Baptist Church, 19 Chestnut St., Peabody. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers. Visitation will be held from 5-7PM on Monday, December 26, 2022, at C.R. Lyons & Sons, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
