Helen A. Bontorno

DANVERS- Helen A. (LaPoint) Bontorno, 98, passed away surrounded by her family on October 25, 2023. She was the loving wife of the late John Bontorno.
Born on August 6, 1925, in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Higgins) LaPoint. Helen was raised and educated in Somerville and moved to Danvers with her husband to raise their family. Helen was very active in her community. She had been a longtime member of the Lions Club and had served as their president. She was a communicant at Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church and a member of the Couples Club. Helen worked until she was eighty years old. She was the receptionist for the Town Hall in Danvers and for Phil Richards Insurance. Helen also volunteered at the Senior Center. She loved children and was always there for her children and grandchildren. She was the “best Nana ever”.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Piscioneri of Georgetown, her son and daughter-in-law, John “Jack” Bontorno and his wife, Diane of Georgetown and daughter-in-law, Diane Anthony, her grandchildren, A.J. Bontorno and his wife Lauren of Wells, Maine, Tiffany Pottle of Georgetown and Stephen, Sarah and David Anthony and four great grandchildren, Colton, Easton, Zaalee and Crüx and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, April Anthony and sons-in-law Dominick Piscioneri and Stephen Anthony and siblings, George, John, Mary and Bill LaPoint and Anne Finocchio and Frances Eng.
