Helen F. Armstrong, 75, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2019 at Beverly Hospital. She was the loving companion of the late Thomas Burke, who predeceased her in 2015. Born in Danvers on June 7, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Aime and Nora (Callahan) Armstrong. She was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1961. Helen then trained at Northshore Babies and Children’s Hospital in Salem and worked at Nazareth in Jamaica Plain before beginning her career at Hogan Regional Center in Danvers. She retired as an on-site supervisor after many years at Hogan. She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed camping. She leaves four siblings, Nancy Donahue and her husband Jere of California, Michael F. Armstrong of Ipswich, Kathleen Bannon and her husband George of Danvers, and Theresa Gentleman of Ipswich, and will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by six siblings, Marie Rosse, Julie Martyn, Ann Getchell, and John, William, and Robert Armstrong. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 22, 2019 at 9AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to the Discalced Carmelite Nuns, 15 Mt. Carmel Rd., Danvers, MA 01923.
