Helen S. (Iwanicki) (Patrie) Hester, 92, died early on Monday morning, December 8, 2014 at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield. She was the loving wife of the late Leonard Hester, who predeceased her in 2002. Born in Salem on Oct. 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Helen (Robotycka) Iwanicki. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School. A Danvers resident since 1968, she was a creative and talented person who loved to paint ceramics, oil paint, and enhance her home décor. She was an avid reader and loved the arts. She enjoyed square dancing and vacationing everywhere with her husband and children, including aboard years ago. Her lifwe was spent as a loving and devoted mother of 10, a grandmother of 18, and great-grandmother of 13. She shared her faith with friends and family at the Victory Chapel in Salem and the Trinity Assembly of God in Derry, NH. She leaves her children, Theresa McDuff and her husband Michael of Londonderry, NH, Nancy Jean Patrie-Iwanicki of Middleton, NH, Marianne Patrie of Center Conway, NH, David Hester and his wife Marlene of Danvers, Anthony Hester and his wife Laurie of Danvers, Sean Hester and his wife Lis of Danvers, and Leonard Jay Hester and his wife Kathy of Westford, her brother, James Iwanicki, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her children Thaddeus “Teddy” Patrie, Joanne Patrie, and Maureen Hester. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 1PM at the Trinity Assembly of God, 53 N. Main St., Derry, NH 03038. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fidelis Hospice, 25 Railroad Square, Haverhill, MA 01832.
