Helen (Stark) Caron, 89, of Danvers, Massachusetts, formerly of Auburn, Maine, died peacefully surrounded by family on December 17, at The Brentwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Danvers, where she had been lovingly cared for during the past five months. She was born on October 10, 1924 in Belleville, Kansas, the daughter of Willis Orville and Viva (Ard) Stark. She graduated from the University of Kansas in 1947, and worked as a bacteriologist, and later as a medical secretary. She married Dr. Alexis A. Caron in 1960 in Phoenix, Arizona. As they raised their family, they lived in Lewiston, in Durham for many years, and then in Auburn before moving to Danvers, Massachusetts in 2011. Helen is survived by her husband; her four children, Amy Pierce and her husband Jack of Winchester MA, Elise of Auburn ME, Philip and his wife Donna of Rockport ME, and John and his wife Alicia of Boxford MA; her eight beloved grandchildren, Ian, Lindsay, Caroline, Nathan, Mallory, Thomas, Will and Maggie; and her brother Dr. James R. Stark. She was predeceased by her sister Marjorie Harrison. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1PM on Saturday, December 21, 2013 in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1 Margin St., Peabody. Visitation will be held from 11:30am-12:30pm prior to the Mass on Saturday at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org or a charity of your choice.
