Henry C. Goudreau

Henry C. Goudreau, 93, died Monday, May 25, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Dorothy (Parcher) Goudreau, with whom he shared 71 years of marriage. Born in Marblehead on August 3, 1921, he was the son of the late Elphege and Mary (Gorman) Goudreau. He was raised and educated in Marblehead and attended Lynn Classical High School before joining the Civilian Conservation Corps and then the U.S. Navy, serving honorably during WWII. For eighteen years, Henry was employed by the Eastern Mass Bus Co. as a mechanic, and then for twenty-five years with Reece Corp. in Waltham. A longtime Lynn resident until moving to Danvers twenty years ago, he was a active member of the Saint Alban’s Episcopal Church in Lynn for more than fifty years. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed umpiring in various Lynn baseball leagues and enjoyed his time as a school crossing guard in both Danvers and Lynn. In addition to his wife, he leaves four daughters, Michele Bowden and her husband William of California, Carolee Hatch and her husband Kenneth of Beverly, Darlene Lundy of North Andover, and Deborah Medina and her husband Daniel of New Jersey, his grandchildren, Kristen Broughton, Melanie and Theresa Lundy, Lynette and William Bowden, Meghan, Melissa, Emily, and Daniel Medina, a great-granddaughter, Joon, and several nieces and nephews. Henry was awaiting the birth of his second great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his son-in-law, James Lundy, his sister, Annette Mullin, and his brother, Robert Goudreau. His Funeral Service will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 11AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Monday from 4-8PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Henry’s name may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
