Herman G. “Tut” Tuttle, 94, of Danvers, died peacefully on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was the loving husband of the late Virginia (Carlsen) Tuttle. Born in Salem on Apr. 7, 1921, Tut was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, Class of 1939. He then served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After working in the leather industry for twenty years, he was employed in chemical processing at Hamlett & Hays in Salem until the time of his retirement. A Danvers resident since 1955, Tut was a member of the Peabody VFW and the Peabody Elks. He leaves a daughter, Karen Darisse and her husband Danny of Danvers, a son, Kevin Tuttle and his wife Cheryl of New Hampshire, a daughter-in-law, Elaine Tuttle of Danvers, five grandchildren, Greg Tuttle, Daniel Tuttle, Kim Tanzella, Tammy Darisse, and Ryan Darisse, and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Keith Tuttle. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at noon in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11-11:45AM. Burial will be in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
