Irene A. Pezzuto
August 14, 1931 ~ December 19, 2022
DANVERS- formerly of Burlington, Irene A. (Colosi) Pezzuto, 91, passed away on December 19, 2022, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was the wife of the late Michael Pezzuto, Jr., with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.
Born in Medford on August 14, 1931, Irene was the daughter of Pasquale and Margaret (Vasta) Colosi. She was raised and educated in Medford, graduating from Medford High School in 1949. She worked as a legal secretary in Boston before starting a family and embarking on a lifelong career as a proud homemaker. Irene was well known as a gourmet cook and experienced baker. Her Christmas cookies will truly be missed. She thoroughly enjoyed making her house a home and was very happy to share her Italian heritage with all. Irene was a long-time Burlington resident before bravely moving to Danvers in 2013 to be closer to family.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christine and William Saunders of Melvin Village, NH and her son, Michael Pezzuto of Dedham. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Patrick Saunders of Jupiter, FL, and Rachel Coster and her husband, Michael of Essex, VT. Irene was predeceased by her siblings Anthony Colosi and Marguerite Sarcia. Irene’s funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Irene’s name to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Danvers, MA, 01923 or to a charity of your choice.

We are so sorry to hear of Irene’s passing, what a wonderful neighbor…. our son used to deliver the daily paper and she was wonderful to him. She and Mike kept a lovely yard, she called it the gateway to our neighborhood.
