Jane Joyce Smith

Jane "Joyce" Smith, a devoted wife, loving mother, and respected member of the Middleton community, passed away on January 21, 2024, at the age of 81. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and dedication. Joyce was born in Red Level, Alabama, to Elmer and Effie Mae (Davis) Barrow. She spent her early years in Alabama before embarking on a life journey alongside her husband, Charles H. Smith, to whom she was married for over 60 years. Her life was a testament to her adaptability and strength as she lived in numerous Air Force bases, supporting her husband during his honorable service in the U.S. Air Force. After residing in Alabama for many years, Joyce and Charles settled in Middleton, where they enjoyed a quiet life surrounded by friends and family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles, and her son, David Smith of Middleton. Joyce’s Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 29, at noon at C.R. Lyons and Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm Street, Danvers Square. Following the service, Joyce will be laid to rest at Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton. Relatives and friends are invited.
