Janet MacDonald

Janet MacDonald, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Danvers, passed away on June 17, 2026 at the age of 91.

She was born and raised in Salem, Massachusetts and was a graduate of Saint Chretienne School in Salem. She was married to Russell MacDonald, originally Salem. She was the daughter of the late Lucienne (St-Pierre) and Arthur Dupuis. Her mother was the oldest child of 19 children affectionately known as the St-Pierre 19 of Salem. This blessed her growing up in a family larger than most people could even fathom.

Janet was a talented pianist who loved singing and enjoyed all the family musical get togethers. She even made a record as a teenager. She was a gifted artist who loved crafts and even taught ceramics in retirement.

Due to her husband’s employment and then in retirement she lived in Massachusetts, Vermont, Ohio, Maine and Arizona. She became an expert at packing and unpacking. Her employment for most of these moves was in the clerical and administrative fields.

Her unwavering support for her children, even with the difficulty later in life as a single parent, was exceptional.

She was predeceased by her husband Russell MacDonald, her parents Lucienne and Arthur Dupuis, her sisters Anita (Dolly) Page and Mary Ann Koening. She leaves behind her children Brian MacDonald and his wife Gayle of Topsfield, MA, Scott MacDonald of Phoenix, AZ, Kim Bernard and her husband Nelson of Mesa, AZ and Wayne MacDonald and his wife Jeanie of Scottsdale, AZ, twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Her Funeral Service will be celebrated on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 10AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
