Jean Chakoutis

Jean H. (Begin) Chakoutis, aged 55, passed away on January 17, 2024, at Beverly Hospital after battling a lengthy illness. Born on July 26, 1968, in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Alban and Leah (LeBlanc) Begin. Jean grew up in Salem, where she attended and graduated from Salem High School. A longtime Salem resident, Jean spent her final 13 years in Peabody, where her spirit and kindness touched many. Known for her love of puzzles and crocheting, Jean found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, a season she cherished for its warmth and the joyous gatherings with her beloved grandchildren. Jean's legacy is carried on by her loving family. She is survived by her two sons, Scott M. Chakoutis, Jr. of Beverly, and Ricky Chakoutis of Salem; her daughters-in-law, Danielle Benyue and Amanda Abreu; her nephew, Daniel Begin; and her adored grandchildren, Tye Chakoutis, Caylee Chakoutis, April Chakoutis, and Damian Abreu. Jean was predeceased by her brother, Paul Begin, father, Alban Begin and mother, Leah (LeBlanc) Begin. Jean's life will be celebrated at a later date. Arrangements are by C.R.
