Joan Elizabeth (Anthoine) Livingston, 94, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, died peacefully at Terra Bella in Mooresville, North Carolina, on Saturday, September 9, 2023, where she was lovingly cared for in her final days. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert G. Livingston, with whom she shared fifty-two years of marriage. Joan was born in Portland, Maine on August 1, 1929, to the late Charles N. Anthoine and Florence Lunt Anthoine. She was raised and educated in Windham, Maine and achieved the honor of being the valedictorian of the Windham High School class of 1947. She continued her education at Westbrook Junior College in Portland and Northeastern University. A Danvers resident for over fifty years, she was an active member of the First Church of Danvers Congregational, contributing her voice to the choir and teaching Sunday school. Her dedication extended to organizations like the Eastern Star and the Danvers Women's Association. In 2004, Joan relocated to Mooresville, North Carolina, where she continued to involve herself within her new community. She shared her time and energy as a volunteer at Lake Norman Hospital, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to helping others. In addition to her community involvement, Joan served as a medical secretary for Dr. James Hagerty in Danvers for 18 years, where her professionalism and compassion made a meaningful difference in the lives of patients. She had also worked for various doctors prior to her tenure with Dr. Hagerty, showcasing her exceptional skills and dedication in the medical field. Her talents extended beyond her professional life and community involvement. She had a passion for cooking and baking, and her beautifully kept home was a warm and welcoming haven for family and friends, especially during the holidays. Her culinary talents and the love she poured into her home were just another testament to the remarkable woman she was, and these traditions will live on in the hearts—and kitchens—of her loved ones as they celebrate her legacy. She is survived by three children, daughters Elizabeth Lyons of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Diana Livingston of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and her son Peter Livingston of Charlotte, North Carolina. Her memory will forever be cherished by her grandchildren, Corey Stach, Jennifer Stach, C.R. Lyons, Kevin “Bing” Lyons Jr., Bethany Lyons, Hunter Livingston, Harrison Livingston, and Garrett Livingston, as well as her seven great-grandchildren and her devoted nieces and nephews.
