John H. McDonald

John H. McDonald, Jr., 84, died Saturday, December 26, 2015 following a lengthy illness.
Born in Danvers on April 6, 1931, he was the son of John and Eleanor (McCool) McDonald. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1949. He went on to graduate from Boston College and earned his master’s degree from Salem State College.
Mr. McDonald began his teaching career at Burlington High School before beginning a tenure at Peabody High School that would span nearly a quarter century. At the time of his retirement, he was the chairperson of the foreign languages department.
He leaves several cousins and friends.
Funeral Services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
I was a student in Mr McD’s class for 3 years at PHS. He always had a twinkle in his eye…especially when he was trying NOT to laugh at some of the antics in the classroom! Rest in peace,Mr McDonald! Susan class of ’69
