John J. Fraizer

John J. Fraizer, 99, a Danvers resident for over seventy years, died peacefully on Monday, April 3, 2023. He was the loving husband of the late Shirley D. (Phinney) Fraizer.
Born in Providence, RI on August 19, 1923, he was the son of the late George and Irene (Plunket) Fraizer. He was raised and educated in Rhode Island and was a graduate of LaSalle Academy. Service in the U.S. Army Air Corps interrupted his studies at Brown University, and following his graduation from Brown he went on to earn a master’s degree from MIT.
John began his career in engineering at General Electric working in aviation and later moved on to the defense industry, retiring from Raytheon.
An avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed mountain climbing, skiing, and sailing. He was a founding member of the Locust Lawn Ski Club, a Boy Scout leader, and a longtime member of the Danvers Recreation Committee.
A member of the Danvers Rotary Club for many years, he and his late wife were also active members of the Catholic Mr. & Mrs. Club.
He leaves three children and their spouses, Robert and Paulette Fraizer of Beverly, Andrea and James Cutter of Danvers, and David and Patricia Fraizer of Danvers, five grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Alison, and Nick Cutter and Daniel Fraizer, three great-grandchildren, Avery, Tess, and Lily, and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be Friday, April 7, 2023 at 10AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Thursday from 5-7PM in the funeral home.
