DANVERS- John J. Maleck, 76, passed away on February 6, 2023, in Beverly Hospital after a long fight with COPD and congestive heart failure. Born in Salem on January 16th, 1947, he was the son of the late John and Alice (Zielski) Maleck and brother to the late Peter Maleck. John was raised and educated in Salem and Danvers and graduated from Danvers High School in 1964. He served our country with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. John was a proud Marine and was honorably discharged as a Lance Corporal. After leaving the military, he worked for General Electric in Lynn as an engineer. He loved music and was his son’s number one fan. When he wasn’t listening to music or going to concerts, he enjoyed golf, gardening and sports. John was a devoted grandfather and treasured time with his granddaughter, Emma. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Belinda Maleck of Danvers, his stepson, Craig Marvel of Danvers, his granddaughter, Emma, his niece Chantel LaBrie, former wife, Linda (White) Maleck and beloved grand dog Madison. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 5-8PM in Supino’s Restaurant, 250 Newbury St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to Operation Troop Support, 16 Trinity St., Danvers, MA, 01923.

  2. John was a great friend to Tom and I. We used to see him alot at Supinos and 466. Always bragged about his wonderful family and how much he loved you. We all went to DHS and I actually grew up down in Danversport
    with John. Hope John will RIP. Ruthann and Tom Pierce ❤️
