John M. Bishop, 79, passed away on April 23, 2013 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. He was the son of the late John and Dorothy Bishop. John was a graduate of Holten High School in Danvers and attended Wentworth Institute. He served our country with the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. John was employed at the Town of Middleton’s - Electric Light Department for over twenty years where he worked as a Lineman. He was affectionately known to some as “Big John”. A man of few words, John was happiest working on cars in the garage but also loved playing his Dobro and making music with his friends. John is survived by: his children - Joe Bishop and his wife Lawrie of Skowhegan, ME; Brenda Crosby of Concord, NH; Mark Bishop and his wife Susan of Boxford, MA and Dana Bishop and his wife Karen of Belmont, NH. his siblings - Pauline Wilson of Middleton, MA and David Bishop and his wife Doreen of FL. his grandchildren - Michael, Jonathan, Carol, Jennifer, Kellie, Katie, Nathan and Taylor and four great grandchildren - Gabriella, Isabella, James Jr., and Carter. A Graveside Service will be celebrated at 11AM on Friday, April 26, 2013 in Oakdale Cemetery, Maple Street (Route 62), Middleton, MA. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-7 PM at C.R.
