John Patrick Hurley, 50, passed away on September 25, 2013 at Beverly Hospital. He was the loving husband of Angelina (Gesualdi) Hurley with whom he shared 18 years of marriage. Born in Somerville on July 6, 1963, he was the son of the late Mary (Brigandi) Hurley and Michael and Marjorie Hurley of Lynnfield. He was raised and educated in Charlestown. John had resided in Middleton for the past 13 years. John was an entrepreneur; he was the proprietor of the Newbury Street Inn in Peabody and also Hurley Construction, where he was a general contractor. His passion was music. John was a professional drummer and enjoyed disc jockeying. John was also a member of the Jordan Masonic Lodge in Peabody. Besides his parents and his wife Angelina, he is survived by his beloved children, John P. Hurley, Jr. and Vanessa Hurley, his siblings, Patricia Hurley-Arsenault of Wakefield, Pamela Hurley of Wakefield and Thomas Hurley and wife Julie of Texas, his mother and father-in-law, John and Josephine Gesualdi of Danvers, many sisters and brothers-in-law, several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by a brother Michael J. Hurley, Jr. and two sisters, Laura Lynn Hurley and Sandra Marie Scott. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 9AM in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St, Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Hobart St., Danvers. Visiting hours are Sunday from 3-7PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St, Danvers. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in John’s name to Northeastern Family Institute, 33 Gregory St, Middleton, MA, 01949 or Italian Home for Children, 1125 Centre St., Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130.

  1. Mickey, I am so sorry to her about Johnny. I will never forget having him and his girl over for dinner when I lived in Salem. He was a fun and loveable guy. I know he will be missed.
