Jon E. Savory, 63, of Danvers, died Thursday, February 16, 2012 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House following a brief illness. He was the husband of Patricia (Muse) Savory, with whom he shared 37 years of marriage. Born in Salem on Jan. 26, 1949, he was the son of the late Frank and Dorothy (Brown) Savory. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School. For nearly thirty years, Jon had been employed by the former Walbar Metals in Peabody. Recently, he had been employed as a school bus driver with North Reading Transportation. A member of the North Shore Old Car Club, Jon spent several years restoring a 1928 Ford Model A. He also enjoyed model railroad trains. In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, Jodi Savory of Danvers, two brothers, Frank Savory and his wife Marilyn of Methuen and Scott Savory and his wife Joy of Essex, and several nieces and nephews. His Funeral Service will be Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at 10AM in Holy Trinity United Methodist Church. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Monday from 4-8PM in C.R. My Condolences to the Savory family.I’ve known Jon for thirty years or so but i have not seen him since he retired from walbar.He would come to Holdens to get feul for the trucks or to have the company cars and trucks repaired.I was sad to hear of his passing,He would always be good for a laugh.Whether he was picking on me or someone he worked with.I’m sure he be deeply missed.R.I.P.Jon….
