Joseph A. Fazio, 95, of Danvers, died Thursday, October 31, 2024 following a period of declining health. He was the husband of Irene J. (Pero) Fazio, with whom he shared 73 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Somerville, MA on Oct. 24, 1929, he was the son of the late Angelo and Margaret (Sarcia) Fazio. He was raised and educated in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
A Danvers resident since 1955, Joe owned and operated Boston Street Auto Body in Salem, MA from its founding in 1964 until the time of his retirement. He was also a part owner of Carriage Towne Plaza in Kingston, NH.
He enjoyed boating, fishing, and waterskiing, and especially cherished being able to teach his children, their friends, and his grandchildren how to waterski.
A true Mr. Fix-it, Joe loved working around the house and yard, but most of all he prized time spent with family and friends.
He leaves three children, Monica Dotolo and her husband Ronald of Hampstead, NH, Angelo Fazio and his wife Grace of Santa Ana, CA, and Francine Fazio and her fiance Michael MacMillian of Fremont, NH, his grandchildren, Jeffrey Dotolo and his wife Tracy, Jessica McPhail and her husband Jay, Christine McKenney and her husband Kevin, Suzanne Quigley, Justine Maguire and her husband Matthew, Stefanie Hayes and her husband Jon, and Katie Rose Fazio, his great-grandchildren, Joseph, Vincent, Andrew, Ben, Ava, Annie, Tyler, Callie, Joelle, Evelyn, Pierce, and Dylan, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Anna Jordan and Domenic and Angelo Fazio Jr.
Visitation will be at C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 10:00AM until 10:45AM. followed by Funeral Service at 11:00AM. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery. Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Donations in Joe’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. We are sorry to hear of the passing of uncle Joe, he was my Godfather. Joe brought endless happiness to his family and friends. Most memorable were countless family visits for holidays, pool parties and fun together at Chebacoo Lake. Joe had a perpetual smile when the Mercury was open at full throttle.
