Joseph C. Hall, 98, died Saturday, August 22, 2009 following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Jane (Augustowicz) Hall and the late Harriett (Rozar) Hall. Born Joseph Halupowski in Salem on July 4, 1911, he was the son of the late John and Maryanna (Cidzik) Halupowski. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of Holten High School, Class of 1930. An accomplished ballroom dancer and instructor, Mr. Hall began his dancing career in the former dance halls of the North Shore and Boston. He later relocated to Springfield where he owned and operated his own dance studio and shop for many years. In retirement, he relocated to Clearwater, Florida where he was still dancing as recently as three years ago. Mr. Hall is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Mary Halupowski of Danvers, a brother-in-law, George Summers of Danvers, and a host of nieces and nephews, including Linda, Mary-Lee, Tony, Sally, Janet, Noel, Susan, and Deborah, and a dear friend, Suzie. He was the brother of the late John, Carl, Victor, and Leonard Halupowski, William Williams, Stanley Hale, Victoria Marquis, Sophie Pivonski, Catherine Hamilton, Mary Summers, and Barbara and Felixa Halupowski. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 9AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited.
