BEVERLY-Joseph P. Toner, Jr., 81, passed away on October 26, 2022, in Beverly Hospital. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Allen) Toner. Born in Winchester, on March 29, 1941, he was the son of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Connelly) Toner. Joseph was raised and educated in Reading and Lynn. He graduated from Lynn English in 1960 and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University. He received his masters from Suffolk University. Joseph had been a longtime resident of Danvers and a communicant of Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church. He had been employed with Boston Gas for over 40 years as an engineer. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Terri Toner of Florence, Matt and Leslie Toner of Manchester-by-the-Sea and Andrew Toner and Kozue Sawame of Beverly, one granddaughter, Ellie Toner, six brothers, Edward of Swampscott, James of Harwichport, Paul of Swampscott, Mark of FL, William of CA and John of Marblehead and his sister, Mary Goldstein of Salem and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Thomas and Eleanor. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Friday, Nov. 4, 2022, in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. Burial is private.
