Joseph R. "Bob" Comeau

Joseph Robert “Bob” Comeau, 72, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was the loving husband of Linda (Sherwood) Comeau, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage. Born in Lynn on July 3, 1940, he was the son of the late Raymond and Bertha (Gelineau) Comeau. He was raised and educated in Swampscott and Lynn, and served honorably in the U.S. Navy aboard amphibious assault craft. For nearly fifty years, he owned and operated the Comeau Construction Company. Over the last four years, he enjoyed his time as a crossing guard at Riverside School. A Danvers resident since 1967, he enjoyed boating and sports cars. He was an avid motorcyclist and toured through 48 states, Canada, and Mexico. He was a past president of the American Gold Wing Association. In addition to his wife, he leaves three daughters and their husbands, Cheryl and Kenneth Hodges of Jacksonville, FL, Julie and Neil Shove of Cameron, NC, and Holly and Richard White of Beverly, his grandchildren, Scott Hodges, Kimberly and Jodyanne Shove, and Laura and Matthew White, and five great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Raymond J. Comeau. His Funeral Service will be Sunday at 1:30PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Saturday from 3-7PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing -hadn’t heard he was ill. our sympathies to all the family. I have some fond memories from hadley Jr. high.
He made an impression with everyone he met. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
