Josephine B. Osgood
July 4, 1928 ~ November 20, 2014
Josephine B. (Gajewski) Osgood, 86, entered into God’s peace on November 20, 2014. She was the beloved wife of Robert G. Osgood with whom she shared 59 years of marriage.
Born in Salem on July 4, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Bronislaus and Anastasia (Woytas) Gajewski. She was raised and educated in Salem and graduated from Salem High School. Josie had been a lifelong Hotwatt employee. She had retired as the office manager. She was also the past president and member of the Polish Club in Danvers and a member of Saint Michaels Club in Peabody. Josie and her husband had been resident caretakers of the Rebecca Nurse Home for many years and a member of the Danvers Alarm List. She was a communicant of Saint Richard Parish and a past member of their choir.
Besides her husband, Robert, she is survived by her three daughters, Roberta McElwain and her husband Ron of New Hampshire, Joanna MacDonald and Joyce Clemenzi and her husband Robert, five grandchildren, Ida Mae Campbell, Jeremey Osgood, Keely Rose McElwain, Candice Elizabeth Dawes, Sara Anastasia Pierce, two great grandsons, Samuel Wyatt and Jackson Robert Campbell, a daughter-in-law, Deborah Jenkins of Florida and a dear friend John Henry Dabrieo and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son David, her son-in-law Bruce MacDonald, her former husband, Joseph Pref and her brothers, Leonard and Francis Gajewski.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Monday, November 24, 2014 in Saint Richard Parish, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours are Sunday from 3-6PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101.
Bob and family,please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. My parents spent many fun times with you both, at the Polish Club. I know Josie will be watching over you, may your memories bring you great comfort.

Josie was a sincere and optimistic person. She was pleasant and positive even when struggling with her health. Her bond with Bob was a joy to behold. Josie certainly had a beneficial impact on the world, and I am honored to have known her.

Bob – Joyce – Joanna. … Such fond memories of a lovely lady…….Josie insisted on being my sponsor at the Club – it was such an honor as she was my friend, and also the President!…….All those years hulling strawberries under a shade tree at the Nurse House for the annual Strawberry Festival. So many strawberries, such fun – work – talk – laughs – sharing stories! Good times………Josie’s lovely voice at Karaoke – that lady could sing! And everyone listened…. Farewell, Josie. .
