joyce connelly
Joyce E. (Rollins) Connelly, 85, of Danvers, died Friday, February 17, 2023 at Hathorne Hill in Danvers following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Harry M. Connelly, with whom she shared fifty-nine years of marriage. Born in Stoneham on May 8, 1937, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Murray) Rollins. She was raised and educated in Medford, and was a 1955 graduate of Medford High School. Joyce inspired everyone with her grace and optimism. Her kindness, compassion, and generosity of heart touched the lives of many. A natural talent for interior decorating led to a successful career in furniture sales, and she took great pleasure in helping family and friends with their decorating needs. Another passion for Joyce was travel. She and her husband made trips to Ireland, Wales, Scotland and England where she enjoyed learning more about her ancestors. A dedicated wife and mother, Joyce also loved and adored her grandchildren, nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She leaves four children, Michael Connelly and his wife Kimberly of Fort Myers, FL, Linda Staaf and her close friend Gordon of Amesbury, John Connelly and his wife Kerry of North Reading, and Harry Connelly Jr. and his wife Rosemary of Wilmington, eight grandchildren, Brian, Christine, Daniel, Timothy, Kalin, and Elizabeth Connelly, and Katrina and Patrick Staaf, and two great-grandchildren, William and Samuel. She was predeceased by her siblings, Audrey Butterfield and John "Jack" Rollins. Her Funeral Service will be Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 10AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4-7PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923. 1. I had the pleasure of meeting Joyce at Hathorne Hill Center almost 2 years ago. She was a beautiful LADY in every sense of the word. I am grateful to have had the chance to get to know her. May she rest in peace now.
