June F. (Camire) Rhodes, 77, died Friday, May 21, 2010 following a lengthy illness. She was the loving wife of Francis C. Rhodes, with whom she shared fifty-six years of marriage. Born in Lawrence on July 4, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Emma Camire. She was a Danvers resident for over forty years. Mrs. Rhodes was employed for many years as a waitress at the former Harp & Bard in Danvers, and also worked as a caring and dedicated home health aide for several years. She took pleasure in riding and caring for horses and loved the mountains. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Judith A. Steele and her husband John of Danvers, a son, Francis C. Rhodes Jr. and his wife Samantha of Florida, a sister, Winifred Camire of Methuen, four grandchildren, Michelle Mills, Justin Steele, and Olivia and Natalie Rhodes, and a great-grandson, Preston. She was predeceased by a son, Thomas E. Rhodes. Her Funeral Service will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11AM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will precede the service from 10-11AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in June’s name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
