Karen E. Wadsworth

Hamilton - Karen E. Wadsworth, 57, daughter of the late Theodore R. and Fay C. Wadsworth, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 7, 2016, due to complications following a car accident. Karen grew up in Wenham and was a graduate of the Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School, class of 1976. She went on to study at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, then lived in New York City before moving back to New England to be closer to her family and friends and pursue her career in food and beverage management. More recently, Karen had been living in South Hamilton, where she loved to tend her garden and take long walks in the woods with her beloved golden retriever, Goldie. Karen was active in her community and volunteered for the Red Cross and the Community Service of Hamilton and Wenham, among others. Karen is survived by her brother, James H. Wadsworth of San Francisco, CA, her uncle Peter Hiley of Mansfield, England, and a large extended family in England and the United States. Karen's family is also deeply grateful for the loving support of the extraordinary people in her life, including Jane Granz of Wenham and Barbara Gilfillen of Hamilton, MA. Visiting hours will be held from 5-7PM on Friday, February 12, 2016 at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. All other services are private.
