Karen Mahoney, 61, formerly of Boxford, MA, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2013 surrounded by her family. Born in Danvers, MA on Nov. 27, 1951, she was the daughter of Lois J. (Chase) Mahoney and the late Raymond F. Mahoney. She was raised in Boxford and graduated from Masconomet Regional High School. Karen had been employed with the Town of Wolfeboro, NH for more than 20 years in both the town office and as a librarian. More recently, she had retired to live with her daughter in Manchester. If you were fortunate enough to know Karen, you will always remember her laugh, smile, compassion, and selflessness toward others. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by two daughters, Bethany F. Bishop of Manchester, NH and Kayla E. (Bishop) Preston of Ossipee, NH, a granddaughter, Rachael Marie Preston, her brothers, Daniel Mahoney of Salem, Raymond Mahoney of Georgetown and Steve Mahoney of Maine, nieces, nephew, and many friends. Relatives and friends are invited to her graveside service in celebration of her life at Walnut Grove Cemetery on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 11am. There are no other funeral services. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Karen’s name to Assistance Canine Training Services, P.O. Box 86, Center Tuftonboro, NH 03816 or online at www.assistancecanine.org.

  1. I am saddened to hear about Karen. And yes, my distinct memory of her, now many years ago in high school is a smiling, bubbly gal. She was so likable. I am sorry for your loss. Respectfully, Sharon
