Kathleen A. Bartlett, age 73, of Salem, passed at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington on March 23, 2024.
Born on April 16, 1950, in Boston, she was the beloved daughter of the Barbara (Mattaliano) Bartlett of Hyde Park and the late Joseph Bartlett. Kathy was raised and educated in Hyde Park and graduated from Hyde Park High School. She received her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Boston State College.
She went on to become a dedicated foreign language teacher, specializing in French and Spanish, serving the Boston public schools until her retirement. Kathy's teaching career primarily centered around Jamaica Plain High School and Charlestown High School, where she impacted countless lives with her passion for languages and education.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Kathy found joy in collecting Hallmark ornaments and cherished memories of her travels throughout Europe in her younger years.
Kathy was a loving daughter, mother, and sister. In addition to her mother, she leaves her loving children Jeannine Evett of Salem and Matthew Craven, and his companion Teresa Peyton of Anoka, Minnesota; her brothers, Paul J. Bartlett of Franklin, and John J. Bartlett of Norwood.
A private funeral service will be held to honor Kathy's life and legacy. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness and wisdom.
