Kathleen M. Bannon

Kathleen M. (Armstrong) Bannon, 70, passed away on September 28, 2023, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a decades-long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was the devoted wife of George A. Bannon, Jr., with whom she shared 49 years of marriage.
Born in Danvers on April 15, 1953, Kathleen was one of the eleven children of the late Aimee and Nora (Callahan) Armstrong. A lifelong Danvers resident, she was a 1971 graduate of Danvers High School.
Kathleen dedicated over 30 years of her life as a certified nursing assistant at the Hunt Nursing Home. Her compassionate nature and caring disposition touched the lives of countless patients and their families. She will always be remembered for her unwavering dedication to others.
Beyond her work, Kathleen was a true Boston sports enthusiast, cheering passionately for her favorite teams. Nature held a special place in her heart, and she was known for her love of animals, especially her granddogs Buddy and Sonia. Her annual vacations were cherished moments, especially the times spent with her husband, George, at Lake Winnipesaukee.
Kathleen's selflessness and calm demeanor left an indelible mark on everyone she met. Her kindness was a beacon of light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Care Dimensions for the exceptional care they provided to Kathleen during her final days.
She is survived by her devoted husband, George A. Bannon, Jr., her two daughters, Heather of Danvers and Holly of Ocala, Florida, her twin brother, Michael Armstrong of Barrington, NH, her sisters Nancy Donohue of California and Teresa Gentleman of Ipswich, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 10AM in Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church, 24 Conant St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. My first true memory of Kathy was her glistening in the backyard, sunbathing next to George. Kathy looked fabulous in a bikini pregnant with Holly.
