Laurent N. “Larry” Lamarre, 83, of Danvers, beloved husband of Joyce Lamarre, passed away, Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at home, surrounded by his family. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rosa (Brochu) Lamarre. He was raised in Salem and attended St. Joseph’s school and was a graduate of Salem Vocational High School. After high school, he served three years in the United States Army as a lineman and was a veteran of the Korean War. Larry was self employed as a mason until he became custodian at St. Richard’s church for 15 years. He loved spending time with his family, working in his yard, playing bingo and going to the Salem Senior Center. For many years, he was very involved with running the Bingo games at St. Richard’s Church. He enjoyed helping others and was very charitable. He was a member of the VFW of Danvers and the Polish Club in Danvers where he enjoyed spending time with friends and playing polski. In addition to his devoted wife Joyce, with whom he celebrated 55 years of marriage, he is survived by his daughter Debra Hines and her husband Jeffrey of Danvers, his son Larry Lamarre and his wife Janice of Danvers, his daughter Laura Sapka and her husband Michael of Naples, Florida, his daughter Kimberly Lamarre of Danvers and his daughter Teresa Monroe and her husband Wallace of Danvers; his grandchildren, Jillian McCarthy, Derek and Darryl Hines, Michael and Nikki Monroe, Jessica and Heather Lamarre, Spencer and Caitlyn Sapka and Ryan Lamarre and his wife Devon; great grandchildren, Landon and Sienna McCarthy and Laila Monroe. He is also survived by his brother Rene Lamarre of Salem and two sisters, Martha Diebner of New Hampshire and Rose Marie Darisse of Middleton as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Robert, Rosario, Lucien and Clarence Lamarre and sisters Lauretta O’Brien, Bernadette Anketell, Jeannette Searles, Julie Marks, Rita Cappuccio and Theresa Grenier. He was also predeceased by his granddaughter Tiffany Marie Hines. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 9AM in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest Street, Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s name may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
