Leonard N. Higgins

PEABODY- Leonard N. Higgins, Jr., 71, passed away at his home on November 9, 2022. Lenny was born in Marblehead, MA, on July 15, 1951, to the late Leonard and Ellen (Fuller) Higgins. He graduated high school in Lynn, MA, where he was a standout baseball player. Lenny served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Lenny worked for Ira Toyota in Danvers for 33 years, retiring as a service manager. Lenny was an avid Patriots fan and enjoyed classic rock (especially The Who, The Moody Blues, and Led Zeppelin), grilling, and spending time in Maine. He loved his family. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his four children, David Higgins and his wife, Melissa, of Merrimack, NH, Nicole Salemi and her husband, Stephen, of Marblehead, MA, Michelle Higgins of Peabody, MA, and Brian Higgins and his wife, Valarie, of Middleton, MA; his sister, Shirley Gregware; his ex-wife, Shirley Sullivan; and his six grandchildren, David and Seth Higgins, Michael and Amelia Salemi, and Ava and Lily Higgins; his best friend, Dennis Devaney; and his cats, Marlin, Striper, and Princess. A private celebration of life will be held in Maine in the spring.
