December 29, 1944 ~ September 1, 2025

Resided in: Peabody, Massachusetts

Lois A. (Giovanella) Treacy, 80, of Peabody, passed away peacefully at her home on September 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the devoted wife of Thomas J. Treacy, with whom she shared 58 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Newton on December 29, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Bernice (Savilonis) Giovanella. Lois grew up in Wellesley and graduated from Wellesley High School with the Class of 1962. She went on to earn her degree from Salem State College in 1966 and soon after began her lifelong calling as a teacher. She taught in several school districts before finding her place in the business department at St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers, where she taught for nearly 25 years.  After retiring from teaching, she enjoyed connecting with people and sharing her keen sense of fashion while working at Talbots.
Lois had many passions, but nothing brought her more happiness than her family. She was a wonderful cook and baker, loved crafting, and could often be found walking the beach collecting sea glass. She especially treasured her times at White Horse Beach in Plymouth, Long Beach in Rockport, St. Augustine, Florida, and her trips to Disney World. Above all, she adored her role as Nana to her grandchildren and her great-grandson.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her three children, Thomas Treacy and his wife Sarah of Woburn, Michael Treacy and his wife Jean of Danvers, and Jennifer Baker and her husband Brian of Topsfield; her sister, Mary Pollock of Exeter, NH; her sister-in-law, Jo-Ann Giovanella of Medway; nine grandchildren: Miranda Blanchette and her husband Jason, Shannon, Brendan, and Erin Treacy; Quinlan and Ryan Treacy; and Kelly, Emma, and Allie Baker; one great-grandson, Henry Blanchette; and many loving nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her loving and faithful companion, her golden retriever, Buddy. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Francis and Edward.
Family and friends are kindly invited to visiting hours on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 4 to 7 p.m. at C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm Street, Danvers. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 10 a.m., with burial to follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Caring for a Cure, online at because.massgeneral.org.  For directions or to share a message of sympathy with the Treacy family, please visit www.LyonsFuneral.com.
