Lois J. Mahoney

Lois June (Chase) Mahoney died on Friday, February 27, 2015 at Hunt Nursing Home in Danvers after a short illness. She was the wife of the late Raymond F. Mahoney. Born on August 6, 1929, Lois attended school in Danvers where she later married and lived with her family before moving to Boxford. She enjoyed traveling especially to the Southwest. Lois worked for many years at the IGA in Georgetown and later at Lorraine Roy in Danvers. Lois was the last surviving sibling of nine children of the late Raymond and Ruth Chase. She leaves her children, Raymond P. Mahoney and his wife Deborah of Georgetown, Daniel F. Mahoney and his wife Carol of Salem, and Steven W. Mahoney of Maine. Her daughter Karen Bishop died in 2013. Lois also leaves her grandchildren Lauren McKinnon (Eric) of Haverhill, Bethany Bishop of Manchester, N.H., Kayla Preston (Noble) of Ossipee, N.H., Shane Mahoney (Janina) of Amesbury, and Darby Hery (Christopher) of Malden. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Hunt who became part of her family these last few years. She will be missed and always remembered as a lady! A Memorial will be held in the spring to honor Lois’ life.
