Lois M. Frary

Lois M. Frary, 83, died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Herbert C. Frary, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage. Born in Berlin, NH on July 24, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Myrtle (Webb) McKay. She was raised and educated in Berlin and was a graduate of Berlin High School. She went on to study nursing, graduating from Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Dartmouth, NH. A longtime Danvers resident, Mrs. Frary later followed in the footsteps of her mother-in-law Blanche. She attended M Fazio Institute of Beauty and became a hairdresser. She was self-employed for many years in her home where many of her customers became lifelong friends. An active member of the First Church of Danvers, she loved cooking, entertaining and simply sharing. She enjoyed playing card games and teaching them to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid sports fan who also enjoyed golfing with her late husband and several family members. She is survived by her children, Stephen Frary and his wife Linda of Georgetown, Pamela Olive and her husband James of Danvers, Gayle Piraino and her husband Stephen of Rockport, and Sandra Frary-House of Danvers, seven grandchildren, Michael and Scott Frary, Kristen O’Neill, Todd Pike, James Bouras, Jeffrey Piraino, and Alexandra House, and six grandchildren, Caitlan, Aidan, Anna, Brynn, Jack, and Tyler. She was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Vachon. Her Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11AM in the First Church of Danvers Congregational, 41 Centre St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. As requested, there are no visiting hours and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Church of Danvers Congregational, 41 Centre St., Danvers, MA 01923.

To the whole Frary family, So, so sorry to hear of Lois’s passing. She was such a great person in all her roles as daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt,grandmother, and great grandmother. She was dear to our entire family, and will be greatly missed. Hope she is with my mom and everyone she loved who has passed. You all did a great job loving and supporting her, and for that you should be proud.
