Margaret Fay Platt

Margaret Fay (Curtin) Platt, 75, died Saturday, August 30, 2014 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House. She was the wife of the late James E. Platt, with whom she shared forty-two years of marriage.
Born in Salem on Nov. 8, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John and Marion Curtin. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Saint James High School.
A longtime Essex resident, she was a communicant of Saint John the Baptist Church.
She leaves her children, John Swallow and his wife Lauren Noonan of Beverly, Michael Swallow of New York, Susan Swallow of North Reading, Kathleen Sanderell of East Longmeadow, Elizabeth Breau and her husband Robert of Newburyport, Jacqueline Snow and her husband Wayne of Seabrook, NH, Constance Carson and her husband Christopher of Hampton, NH, and Frances Perry and her husband John of Newburyport, 13 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014 at 10AM in Saint John the Baptist Church, Man St., Essex. Burial will follow in Spring Street Cemetery, Essex. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 5-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
