Margaret (Conneely) Gawron, 98, passed away on February 23, 2025. She was the wife of the late John A. Gawron, with whom she shared 25 years of marriage.
Margaret was born in Rusheeney, Oughterard, Co. Galway, Ireland in 1926. She bravely immigrated to Boston at the age of 24 in search of greater opportunities for herself and future generations. While working at the Crowninshield estate in Marblehead, she met her future husband, John Gawron. They married and moved to Danvers in 1955, where they both worked a small farm and raised their daughter, Mary.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary and loving husband Laurent Perreault, her beloved grandchildren, Joan (Anton) and Marc (Vennie) and her precious great grandchildren, August, Leon, Henry and Samuel, her devoted nieces Patsy, Joan, Peggy, MaryAnn, Marie, Barbara, Gay, Joyce and nephews Martin, William and Mark in the US, as well as her many nieces and nephews in Ireland and her friend and longtime neighbor, Karen (Bogel) Torkildsen. She was predeceased by her seven siblings, John Joe, Tim, Mary, Julia, Delia, Patrick and Tom.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff of Masconomet Healthcare for all their attentive care over the years.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, Salem. Visitation will be held prior to her Mass on Tuesday from 9:30-10:30AM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. In lieu of flowers please spread an act of kindness in memory of Margaret. Donations may be made in Margaret’s name to Masconomet Activity Fund, c/o Masconomet Healthcare Center, 123 High St. Topsfield, MA 01983.
