Margaret A. “Peggy” (Devine) Nolan, 73, died Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Ronald Nolan Sr., who predeceased her in 2003. Born in Malden on July 10, 1938, she was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Conway) Devine. She was raised and educated in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School. A resident of Las Vegas for more than twenty years, she worked in banking there for several years. Mrs. Nolan had resided in Lynn and Danvers for the last fifteen years. She was a devout Catholic and a communicant of Saint Richard Church in Danvers. She had a true love of lighthouses and animals and was an avid Red Sox fan and cribbage player. She enjoyed reading, bowling, crocheting, and especially spending time with her cat, Katie. She is survived by three sons, Scot Nolan and his wife Doreen of Danvers, Ronald Nolan Jr. and his wife Elaine of Farmington, NH, and Patrick Nolan Sr. and his wife Donna of Lynn, a special niece, Cindy Coates, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Sharon Nolan-Kennedy and sister of the late William Devine and Barbara Alcaide. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 9AM in St. Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-7PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. As requested, burial is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02130 or Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
