Margaret T. Alukonis

Margaret (Thompson) (Russell) Alukonis, 86, formerly of Danvers, died January 30, 2025 at the Berkeley Retirement Home in Lawrence following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Roger W. Alukonis, who predeceased her in 1993.

Born in Meriden, CT on July 14, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Pearl (Wheeler) Thompson. She was raised and educated in Cheshire, CT and was a graduate of Cheshire High School, Class of 1956. She went on to further her education at Southern Connecticut State College, where she graduated in 1960.

Peggy was employed as a special education teacher, first in public schools in Connecticut and later at various schools on the North Shore after relocating to the area in 1975.

She enjoyed gardening in her free time and loved animals.

She leaves four grandsons, Benjamin Morgan of Maine, Richard Morgan of Georgia, Adam Titus of Georgetown, and Justin Titus of Georgetown, a stepson, Eric Alukonis of Rowley, and two sisters, Winifred Olson and Priscilla Griffin, both of Connecticut.
She was predeceased by two daughters, Mary (Russell) Morgan and Nancy (Russell) Titus.
