Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Maria will be the brightest light in God’s garden just as she was in our lives. For me and my family, that light will never dim or go out.
To Maria’s family, I grieve with you and say, “My family and I were blessed to have had Maria in our lives”.
Rest in peace, Maria, and may perpetual light always shine upon you …love you so much.

  2. Joanne, Jean and Family,
Please accept our deepest condolences. Maria was a wonderful person and will be sadly missed by all.
Holding you close in our thoughts and prayers hoping that you may find moments of peace.
May Maria’s soul rest in eternal peace!

  3. We are so lucky to have had Maria in our lives. We are truly heartbroken for your loss. May all your wonderful memories bring you comfort during this time of mourning. You are all in our prayers. Love Susan and John

  4. I worked in the weaving studio at Gateway for a few years fresh out of college and early on in grad school for art therapy. Maria was unforgettable and had a genuine, quiet glow all around her. I remember she would come in every Monday with her nails freshly painted — she would proudly hold up her fingers and tell me the color (they always had cute names like “sandy beach”, which she enunciated with intention and care). She would have her hair beautifully styled and she’d tap the back and proudly say “Jean put gel”. She always looked very well cared for by her sisters and it was very clear that she loved them dearly. I enjoyed watching her make art and catching the moments she clearly felt most connected (often when myself and others enunciated words in a way similar to her, a spark of feeling seen!!)… I am lucky enough to have a small flower drawing of hers framed and hanging over my desk in my studio. It reads “Apil showers bring May flowers; April brings May showers flowers”. My husband (who I met when he was the financial manager at Gateway) bought it as a gift early in our relationship because he knew how much I loved her work. Maria was, and will always be, a gift to the world. I am deeply grateful to have been able to know her for a brief moment in time. I will hold her in a blessed spot in my mind and heart, and I hope memories of Maria make her loved ones smile forever. May she rest in peace.

  5. I knew Maria was special when I met her a few years back. Although the restaurant was well lit, she appeared to shine more than others. Appreciative for the small things so many take for granted. Showing enthusiasm for a good meal and thankful for the loving support from her sisters. What a joy.

We all are in a better place knowing Maria and thankful for people like her.

  6. Prayers for Maria and her family. Maria will always have a place in our hearts, never to be forgotten. Always at our table to enjoy a meal with us as she has done many times. Enjoyed when she showed me that her nails were done. God needed her more to comfort her. We all will miss her. Bless her house and family.

  7. My heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your beloved Maria. She was such a beautiful person. I have many fond memories of Maria. Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. May all your cherished memories of Maria bring peace and comfort during this difficult time.
    Love,
    Cousin Chrissy
