Martha Kirby

DANVERS- J. Martha (Szypko) Kirby, 97, passed away on August 23, 2015 in Willow Point Nursing Home, Vestal, New York. She was the loving wife of the late Philip Kirby.
Born in Danvers on July 29, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Filip and Anna (Brudzynski) Szypko. She was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Holten High School. Martha was a communicant of both Saint Mary of the Annunciation Church and Saint Richard Church in Danvers. She had been employed as an engineering purchasing agent for 47 years with Osram Sylvania, retiring at the age of 82.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Szypko and his wife Betty of Danvers, nieces and nephews, Dr. Paula Szypko and her husband Martin Quadland of Jackson Hole, WY, Martha Szypko of Saugus, Jane Marchurs and her husband Kenneth of Saugus, Mark Szypko and his wife Eileen of Westford, John Szypko and his wife Pia of Sierra Vista, AZ , Philip Szypko and his wife Paula of Dunedin, FL and Andrew Szypko and his wife Mary Jane Hanchett of San Diego, CA and great nieces and nephews, Robert, Mary Ann, Colleen and Gregory Szypko, Joshua McCall, Alexander Marchurs and Filip Szypko and Shannon and Michael Szypko. She was predeceased by three siblings, Rev. Alexander Szypko, Leonard Szypko and Mary Szypko.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Friday, August 28, 2015 in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-7PM at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers.
