Mary Ann (Swalgen) Fawson, 72, of Danvers, passed away on March 28, 2024 following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Kevin A. Fawson with whom she shared 26 years of marriage. Born in Salem on November 11, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Willis and Mary (Griondalski) Swalgen. Mary Ann was raised and educated in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School. Mary Ann had a long career with Verizon in technical support. She enjoyed time at Winter Island, where she would read and visit with friends. Mary Ann also loved to shop, spending time online as well as in the stores. In addition to her husband, Kevin, she is survived by her children, Jim Swalgen of New Hampshire and Jamie French of Danvers, her sister, Gloria Swalgen of Peabody and grandsons, Jimmy and Jake Swalgen and many cousins. She was predeceased by her grandson Justin Swalgen. Her funeral services will be held at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Visitation will be held from 4-6:30PM, with her funeral service at 6:30PM. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mary Ann’s name to Northeast Animal Shelter 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA, 01970.

  6. Just today, getting this notice of Mary Ann’s passing. My belated condolences to Kevin, Gloria and Jimmy. This is so sad. As I am writing this, so many memories of Mary Ann are going through my mind. We had our ups and downs throughout the years but the last time I visited back home in Massachusetts I looked her up and we had a wonderful time reminiscing. Rest in peace Mary Ann.
