Born in: Newport Beach, Cailfornia
Resided in: Atkinson, New Hampshire

Melody C. Walsh, 59 of Atkinson, New Hampshire and formally from Swampscott and Groveland, Massachusetts passed away November 27, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Her daughter Megan and son-in-law Eric Fournier were married at her bedside on Monday, November 25, 2024. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dean Pedersen who not only married Melody and Ken but officiated their daughters Janelle and Joanna’s marriages as well.

Born in Newport Beach, California, she was the daughter of the late Gloria Kemper and James R. Russo.

Melody was a beautiful, creative person who was a stay-at-home mom for most of her adult life. According to many of her daughter’s friends they referred to her as their second mom.

At the young age of 27, Melody became a widow when her first husband, Joseph Kingston, passed away unexpectedly. Melody had a two-year-old daughter, Janelle, and was six months pregnant with her second daughter, Joanna. Melody worked three jobs to provide for her girls on her own and her mother Gloria would help with babysitting.

In 1993, she met her would be second husband Kenny and they fell in love. They lived a wonderful life in Groveland, Massachusetts and had a third daughter together, Megan.

Melody loved to garden and had the most beautiful landscaped property filled with colorful flowers and grasses. Working in the garden was a passion of hers and many recall stories of seeing her gardens flourish. She shared this passion with her girls and loved passing on all her knowledge and wisdom.

Melody loved to cook and was quite the homemaker. She took pride in taking care of her home and making it a welcoming, cozy place for all who visited. Everyone who has had a cup of coffee brewed by Melody says it is superior to anything else.

She loved being a wife, a mom and a grandmother. Spending time with her grand babies brought her the greatest joy.

Melody had a special place in her heart for her golden retrievers and cats that she gave a loving home to over the years.

Melody courageously battled cancer for the last seven years. Even during such a tragic time in her life, she stayed positive and cultivated many close relationships with her team of doctors and nurses. Everyone who met Melody loved her. She was truly a ray of light.

Melody is survived by her husband Kenneth M. Walsh; her daughter Janelle LaBrie and her husband Chad, her daughter Joanna Long and husband Mark; daughter Megan Fournier and her husband Eric, her twin sister Laura Faria, sister Monica Russo, half-sister Toni Clark, half-brother Gerry Conair, half-sister Becky Hodge and by her grandchildren Bradley and Madison LaBrie, James and Johnathan Long and mother-in-law Pearl A. Tilton.
