Michael Joseph Farmer, age 66, passed away on Friday, April 21st in Danvers after a lengthy illness with his family by his side. Michael was the son of the late Helen M. (Gannon) and Francis X. Farmer of Danvers. He was predeceased by his sister Denise Ann Farmer also of Danvers. Michael was a 1975 graduate of St. John’s Preparatory School in Danvers, and upon graduation enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was a graduate of ITT Tech and then spent 14 years with The Dow Jones Company as a computer technician. Michael loved spending time with his many nieces and nephews, was a devoted NASCAR fan, and especially enjoyed playing with and watching over the various dogs of his siblings. A gentle soul by nature, Michael could regularly be found at Rocco’s Pizza House, Jacks Take Out, or the Portside Diner, always in the same seat. Michael is survived by his brothers Mark Farmer of Ijamsville, Maryland and his partner Beth Owens, John and Susan Farmer of Gloucester, Brian and Anne Farmer of Danvers, and his sister Maryellen Feeley and her husband Edmund of Greenwich Connecticut. Along with his siblings, Michael will be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews: Jay P. Farmer and his wife Carys of New Orleans, LA, Joan K. Guestbook

  1. I remember a guy who knew everything about cars! In recent years ,I would see Michael’s posts about his favorite local eateries and his memories of his days on the road. My heart goes out to the family and hope Michael and Denise have found each other in the great beyond. With sympathy, Paula (Denis) Piraino
