DANVERS- Michael Joseph Neary, 69, passed away in his home on December 13, 2022, following a lengthy illness. Born on November 27, 1953, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Hendrix) Neary. He moved to Danvers when he was four years old. Michael was raised and educated in Danvers and graduated from Danvers High School in 1972. He has owned and operated Neary Welding since 1975. Michael was an avid collector and loved to visit flea markets and Todd Farm. Michael took great pride in recycling, reusing and repurposing. Michael enjoyed motorcycles, bicycles water skiing and snow skiing. He also enjoyed spending time at the Port Farm and on the rail trail. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Shaun and Stacy Neary of Salisbury and his daughter, Julie Neary of Sarasota, FL, four grandchildren, Cameron, Sophia, Jeffrey and Brady, his partner, Mary Rose Babbin and his former wife, Donna (Hussey) Neary. He was predeceased by his brother William Neary. His Funeral Service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers. There will also be a celebration of his life to be held next summer. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Friends of the Danvers Rail Trail at P.O.   1. Well, this is a surprise and sad at the same time. For several years, I would regularly meet Michael at McDonald’s on high Street for coffee. It was always a pleasant meeting, and I enjoyed his company and was unaware of his illness. I have pleasant memories only and, send condolences to his loved ones and others who will miss him as I will.

  2. So sorry to hear this. I always liked Michael’s ideas and how he thought. The barn was my favorite place to visit him. He always looked forward to showing me the next project he was working on. He will be sorely missed.

Michael I know you since I was a young kid never forget about the time we spent down in Florida with my sister and my brother in law which of course was your brother you were a very kind and generous man RIP Michael you are now with your mom and dad and your brother along side your sister in law Cathy till we see each other again God bless to you family for the loss of you love Billy Harper your brother Bill brother in law.

  5. Such a wonderful friend over 30 years with the Rat Pack! We all had many excursions together! Fly high with the angels until we meet again.
